Ethel Lou Scott Sobers, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, passed away Sunday, May 31st, 2026, at the age of 92. Lou was born Monday, November 27th, 1933, in Fort Benton, Montana, to William Archibald Scott and Gertrude Alice Ayers, the youngest of 7 children.
Lou loved to cook, play board games, and make people happy. While attending BYU, Lou met the love of her life, Richard Sobers. The two were married June 28th, 1961, in the Cardsten, Alberta LDS Temple. Later this month, they would've celebrated their 65th anniversary!
Lou is survived by her husband Richard Sobers, son Nathan Sobers (Bruce Snow), son Richard Scott (Ruth) Sobers, daughter Nancy (Adam) Mabey, and son James Sobers. She is also survived by 14 grandkids, and soon to be 20 great-grandkids. Lou was preceded in death by her parents, all 6 siblings, and 1 grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 13th, 2026, at 10:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 3254 Polk Ave, Ogden, Utah, 84403. A viewing will be held prior starting at 9:00 AM. Internment will be held at the Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd. South, Ogden, Utah 84403.
