Eugenia Shanta Gleason, known affectionately to friends and family as Gina, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2024, in her hometown of Ogden, Utah, after a brief battle with a lung infection.
Born on January 24, 1967, to the late George and Karen Cole, Gina's life was marked by her vivacious spirit and boundless generosity. Gina grew up in the tight-knit community of Ogden, where she attended local schools and blossomed into a friendly and spirited individual, known for her ready smile and open heart.
Her warmth and compassion drew people to her, and she became a cherished member of the community. Her passion for sewing was more than just a hobby; it was a way in which she expressed her creativity and shared her talents with those she loved. Her dogs were her constant companions, and she poured love and care into their well-being, embracing the joy and comfort they brought into her life. Gina's character was defined by her generosity. She had an innate ability to connect with people, and she spent her life building and nurturing relationships.
Her spirit was a beacon that lit up the lives of those around her, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, survived by her brother Johnnie L. Cole and sister Bridgett Cole.
Gina's life was a testament to the power of community, friendship, and the human spirit's capacity to spread happiness. Gina's life will be celebrated in a manner that honors the joy she brought into the world. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
A celebration of life will be held on June 22nd at New Hope Fellowship. 795 N. Main St. Layton Utah. At 1:00 PM.
We bid farewell to Eugenia Shanta Gleason. May she rest in peace, leaving us with the imprint of her unwavering friendship and memories woven through the years. Her spirit, will forever hold together the fabric of the community she loved
