Evelyn Theresa Jensen 95, of Ogden, Utah, passed away at the home of her daughter in Hooper, Utah on April 7, 2019. She was born Evelina Theresa Christersen, on December 6th, 1923 in Red Elm, South Dakota, to parents Carl Christersen and Florence Morrissey. She was adopted as a toddler by Oscar Bridwell and Mary Fannie Sitting Eagle of South Dakota. She attended school at the Cheyenne River Boarding School in South Dakota. Evelyn moved from Centerville, South Dakota to Ogden, Utah in July 1957. She worked in the dietary department at St Benedicts Hospital where she retired in 1989. She enjoyed traveling and spoiling her grandchildren. She is survived by her children Raymond A. Jensen (Mary) of Marriott-Slaterville; Larry D. Jensen (Marlene) of Farr West; Robert L. Jensen (Pam) of North Ogden; Vickie L. Ursery (Al) of South Weber; Cindy S. Ellis (Dennis) of Hooper; Ron J. Jensen of Ogden; Lorrie Jensen of Ogden; Michael Cassidy of Spokane, Washington. She is also survived by a brother George Reed (Darlene) of Sundance, Wyoming; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Harold R. Jensen; two daughters Bonnie and Kay; siblings, Carrie, Marietta, Francis, Arthur, James, Elmer, Marie, and William; and daughter-in-law Vonna Cassidy. There will be an Open House on May 9, 2019, at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street in Ogden, Utah between 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 8, 2019, 11:00 am, at the United Church of Christ in Dupree, South Dakota. The family wishes to extend special thanks to nieces Carol Beltz and Sandy Kohlbrand, and Envision Home Health and Hospice.
