Frances Irene Davis Scott left us on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, after a long and valiant fight with cancer. She fought hard and left this world kicking and screaming, vowing that she would get better soon. She often joked that cancer was just teaching her, how many body parts I can live without. She had a positive attitude throughout her illness, which allowed her to outlive her survival expectancy by years. We were so blessed to have her here with us for just that much longer.
Mom was born January 20, 1945, in St. Anthony, Idaho. She was the only child born to John and Phyllis Davis.
She married Wayne Weight. From this union came four children. They later divorced. She then met and married Reed Hall, and they were blessed with one child. After their divorce, she met and married Leon Gates. They were also later divorced. Eleven years ago she met and married Harold Scotty Scott. He preceded her in death by ten months.
Mom always loved crafts and loved to share her talents. She was often found teaching classes in whatever area she was living, including elementary schools, craft stores, and always in her home.
She was an active member of the Washington Terrace 10th Ward. Throughout her life she served wherever she was called, no matter how overwhelming the calling was.
She is survived by four of her children: Jacque (Mark) Lukes, Debbie (Chris) Gittins, Robert (Keri) Weight, and John (Bill) Bybee; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; also numerous wonderful and supportive friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, (Terry Lee Weight), both her parents, and the love of her life, Scotty.
We will miss her greatly, but we are happy for her that she has been released from the pain. Our family would like to thank IHC Health Care and Hospice, and all the wonderful, dedicated nurses who were part of her long-term care. We would also like to thank Dr. Moessinger and Dr. Hansen along with their staffs for their excellent care.
