Frank L. Dean, 76, passed away April 28, 2019. He was born June 14, 1942 to Joseph Albert and Noreen Hamre Dean in Ogden, UT. Frank attended Wilson Elementary, Washington Jr. High, and graduated from Ogden High School.
He was in the Navy from 1960 1963. While in the Navy he trained in the electrical field and after his discharge, became an electrical engineer. He wired numerous restaurants, bars, businesses, and homes in the Ogden, Salt Lake, and surrounding areas.
Frank was also an electrical instructor at Ogden Job Corps teaching students as well as going on to some movie sets to supervise on the sets, one of which was the Donny and Marie Osmond Studios in Provo.
Frank was well known from coast to coast and north to south in the Western Fast Draw Association and customizing pistols for such men as Clint Eastwood, Sammy Davis Jr., Eric Fleming of Rawhide, Robert Fuller of Laramie and Colts President Fred Roff.
He was also was a trapper trapping for beaver, cougar, badger and bobcat in the surrounding mountains.
Frank is survived by sisters Alberteen Dean, Cheryll Burton, Elsie Thompson (Karl), many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Frank was preceded in death by his mother and father; brothers Joseph (Joe), Gene, one sister Elouise; grandparents Joseph Cope Dean and Jeanetta and Louis Bernhart and Amelia Hamre.
Graveside Services will be held at Ogden City Cemetery, 20th and Madison, Ogden, UT on Monday, May 6, 2019 at 2:00 pm.
Family will greet friends on Sunday, May 5, from 6:00 8:00 pm at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th St., Ogden, UT.
