Frank L. Price Sparky passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2018. He was born in 1925 in the Steel City, Pittsburgh, Pa. Frank was a loving and caring man, always there to help family and friends. Frank graduated from Oliver High School where he was quarterback of the football team, played basketball and was president of his senior class. Due to his fathers poor health, he worked in the steel mill at night to support his family. Later he also boxed. Frank served two tours of duty in the Navy during WWII where he worked as an air traffic controller and director of the athletic program. A promotion to Regional Supervisor in consumer lending led Frank and his family to Salt Lake City in 1962, where he was the president of the Barber Shoppers Chorus and a volunteer counselor at Primary Childrens Hospital for many years. Frank made Santa real for hundreds of children at parties and visits to homes of friends. After retirement he relocated to Las Vegas where he was a counselor and administrator in the Drug Court Program for 10 years. Frank was an avid Utes and Steelers fan Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank H. and Mildred and brothers Nip and Lou. Married to Ann Bailey (Deceased), later divorced. He is survived by his daughter Dee Thorell (Kent Barnes), son Gary (Sherrylee), significant other Dawn, brother Harris (Dorothy), numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Frank wished to be cremated and his ashes will be spread in Las Vegas where he loved living in his condo by the pool. The Man of Steel went down swinging and will be forever missed.
