Fred La Grand Williams, 88, passed away on February 2, 2013 at his sons home in Bountiful. He was born on March 6, 1924 in Ogden, Utah. He was the devoted son of Fred DeLeslie and Weltha Swaner Williams. He graduated from Ogden High School and attended Weber College. He married Dorothy Melling in 1947. They were later divorced. Dad served in the anti-aircraft battalion under General George Patton during World War II. He also served his country in the Korean conflict. He retired from Hill air Force Base as an accounting supervisor. Dad served many years in the scouting program and loved the boys he served. He also served on the Ogden City Fire Budget Committee.He was a high priest in the LDS church and served in various callings. Fred is survived by his children: Raymond L. (Wendy), Russell G., Robin K., Randy S. (Janet), Rory B. (Elaine), Roxanne D. Ashby, and Ryan T. Williams. He also leaves behind his dear friend and caregiver Carolyn Lundgren. He has twenty grandchildren and forty seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson Benjamin, his brother John C. Williams, and his sister Berna W. Murphy. A special thank you to Mindy, Haley, Chris and Dan, and the staff at Vista Care Hospice. Services for Fred will be held at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. A viewing will be held Friday, February 8, 2013 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and prior to services from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.
