Freda V. Durand passed away April 8, 2016. She was born November 14, 1918 to Flora and Everett Wallis in Olathe, Colorado. She grew up with three brothers and three sisters. She graduated from Olathe High School. She married Wesley Durand in Grand Junction, Colorado on April 16, 1938.
Freda moved to Utah in 1941. She worked for 20 years for the Civil Service at Hill Air Force Base, DDO and IRS.
Freda was an active member of the Ben Lomond Golf Association for many years and held various offices including president in 1976 and then again in 1996. She was very proud of her hole in one on hole #5!
After retirement, Freda and Wes traveled to Mesa, Arizona during the winter months. This is where she became an avid bridge player and enjoyed playing once a week as a ritual.
Freda is survived by one son, Wen (Elaine) Durand; one daughter, Carol (LaMoine) Walker, seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Freda was the last surviving member of her familys generation.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
