Gary Lewis, 64, passed away on October 27, 2026, from a heart attack, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, and a family who loved him dearly.
Born on August 27, 1962, Gary grew into one of those incredibly smart people who seemed to know a little something about everything. And if he didn't know something, he'd figure it out—usually faster than you could Google it.
Gary was a true jack-of-all-trades and a master of fixing, building, and creating just about anything. There wasn't much he couldn't do once he put his mind to it. His brilliant mind, endless knowledge, and ability to solve just about any problem made him the person everyone turned to when something needed fixing.
Sitting still was never Gary's specialty. A true workaholic, he was always on the move, always working on something, and always looking for the next adventure. If he wasn't working, chances were he was building something fast, taking the side-by-side out for a ride, or finding another way to enjoy the great outdoors. Gary had a love for anything with a motor, especially if it could go fast!
Boating was one of Gary's favorite pastimes. Whether he was out on the water, enjoying the sunshine, or simply taking in the fresh air, he was happiest when he was outdoors and doing something he loved.
But as much as Gary loved working, building, and adventure, nothing meant more to him than his family. Spending time with those he loved, making memories, and sharing life's adventures brought him great happiness. He also had a special place in his heart for his beloved dog, Rocco, his faithful four-legged companion.
Gary had a wonderful sense of humor and a way of making people laugh. He was hardworking, incredibly intelligent, determined, and always ready for whatever came next. He lived life at full throttle, rarely slowing down long enough to catch his breath. He was the kind of man who could turn an ordinary day into an adventure and who left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Nanette Lewis; his children, Chace, Austin, Shaine, Shania & Ryan. His 5 beloved grandchildren, mother, Gloria Lewis, & sister, Tina Lewis, niece, Courtney Yetko & his nephew, Dan Hood.
Gary leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories, countless stories, and moments that will be remembered with laughter and love for years to come. His remarkable mind, adventurous spirit, love for his family, and larger-than-life personality will never be forgotten.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 7th, at 1:00 P.M. at Ben Lomond Cemetery, located at 526 E. 2850 N. in North Ogden, Utah. Following the graveside service, family and friends are invited to gather for a memorial service from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. in Leavitt’s Waterfall Atrium at Leavitt’s Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah.
Gary, we hope the water is calm, the boat runs perfectly, the trails are endless, and there's always something fast waiting for you to drive. And if something up there is broken, we're pretty sure you've already figured out how to fix it.
Rest easy, Gary. For once in your life, you can slow down—but we all know you probably won't.
Forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten. ❤️
