Gayle Wheeler's Obituary

Gayle (Judy) Wheeler passed away suddenly of a heart attack on Friday, October 2, 2015, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was born on March 4, 1936, in New Orleans, Louisiana. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the life she lived and the memories we will always cherish. Judy was a graduate of Ogden High School. During her school years, she served as a student body officer. After graduation in 1954, she served as the reunion committee chair for several years. She loved her high school years and spoke of them often. Judy married Sotero Muniz on August 27, 1955. From this union there were three children Leslie, Nathan and Chris. They were later divorced. She then met Kent Wheeler; they were married in Hawaii on August 18, 1994. Together they traveled extensively in the states and abroad. Ohio was her favorite place to travel and stay. She loved the Amish people and their way of life. She made friends there and visited at least once a year. Traveling abroad she was able to visit Switzerland, and many other places, the Holy Land being her favorite place. Together Kent and Judy served two service missions; one of which was on the Navajo reservation in Arizona. Judy enjoyed reading, traveling and animals. Her son-in-law often told her he wanted to come back in another life as her dog because of how well she treated and fed them. But most of all, she loved visiting her kids and grandkids. We love and miss you Grandma! Judy is survived by her husband Robert (Kent) Wheeler (Bedford, Wyoming; Washington, Utah); her only sister Cynthia Johnston (Ogden, Utah) and her children Leslie (Ken) Jones (Clinton, Utah); Chris (Angie) Muniz (California); three granddaughters: Courtney (Jesus) Aguilar; Shelbie Paige Jones; Kennedy Gayle Jones. (Yes, Kennedy was named after her grandma); one grandson Matthew Heath Killon and one great grandson Caysen Aguilar. Judy was preceded in death by her parents Frances and Ida Mae Johnston, and her son Nathan Frances Muniz. It was time for her to be Nathans mom. She will be missed.
