Mrs. Geneva Swartz recently passed away in Ogden. She was born in Lawrence, Kansas on January 24, 1927 and later moved to Los Angeles, California with her parents. She graduated from Jessup University in San Jose, California and then taught for seven years in San Fernando, California. In the summer of 1956 she moved to Ogden, Utah and directed the Red Cliff Girl Scout Camp. Later that year she became Director of Girl Scouting for the Wasatch Council in Ogden, Utah. She later became the Director of Girl Scouting for the State of Utah. After retiring from scouting, she became active in the General Federated Womens Club serving as the President for Utah.
Geneva enjoyed music and led several church choirs as well as singing groups for the South Ogden Senior Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Jack C Swartz, and a step-son Bill Swartz. She is survived by her step-daughter Sheila Anderton and husband Bill, three grandchildren; Jeff Anderton, Russ Anderton, and Stefani Lesser, six great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
