George W. Floyd III., passed away December 18, 2011. He was born November 1, 1925 to George W. Floyd II., and Bessy Knight Floyd. George attended public school in Philadelphia, PA., and graduated from La Salle University. In 1944, he joined the US Army and served in World War II. George was employed by Thiokol Corporation at its corporate office in Bristol PA., as Director of Finance and Pensions for thirty years. After retiring from Thiokol, he was a consultant for Cain Chemical in Houston, TX., and helped establish Arcadian Chemical and worked there four years. George married Maureen Bingham on October 28, in Ogden, Utah. He is survived by a son, George W. Floyd IV, two daughters, Lynda and Jackie Floyd. George was preceded in death by his parents, and son, John. A graveside service for George will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden.
