Obituary

Gerald "Jerry" Scott Tracy, was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina to Christine and Bruce Tracy on April 30, 1970. Before he was a year old while sitting on his mother's lap, they drove cross-country in her 1967 Camaro to Weber County, UT where he would live for the remainder of his life. This journey began his love of muscle cars and by the time he was 15, probably much to his mother's dismay, he obtained his 1973 Chevy Nova SuperSport. This still sits in Jerry's garage today joined by several others of his favorites, including a 1958 Plymouth Fury Christine and most notably, his 1969 Dodge Charger General Lee that he built over 7 years.

Jerry was a renaissance man with a love of learning. He obtained a Master of Business Administration, Master of Arts in Education, and Bachelor of Arts in Theatre. His passion for the stage and screen led to appearances in shows like Legally Blonde 2, Halloweentown High, Mobsters and Mormons, and Everwood. But Jerry's finest on-screen performances were on his YouTube Channel, Geek and Son. The memories he has captured have provided much comfort and laughter to those he left behind. In 1996, after working at America Online and dreaming of ways to do what he loves so the money will follow, Jerry and his close friend, Chris, started Rent-A-Geek Onsite Technical Services. Over 25 years of fixing lots of weird computer issues and taking on various other jobs along the way, Jerry's love of learning turned to a love of teaching. There was nothing more meaningful to Jerry in his career than the years he spent as a teacher.

Jerry is preceded in death by his mother (Christine) and his grandparents, and is survived by his Father (Bruce), his loving "Wife" (Vanessa), his "Boy" (Dean), his siblings (particularly Jeff and Jena who allowed him to lead and be led) and many other family members. Jerry always made it known that he would rather hang out with the fun kids than the boring adults.
