Gerald Stanley Thompson's Obituary

Gerald asked that his obituary read HE LIVED HE DIED, done. His family adds: Gerald, also known as Sonny, Jerry, Dad, Pop, Grandpa, Gerlad and Honey, passed away at home on December 8, 2016 going to better air and bigger greens. He was born and raised in Northern Minnesota where he most happily pursued what would become lifelong interests in Gods creations, wondrous nature and beautiful creatures. He came to Utah as a teenager with his family but returned to Minnesota for a multitude of visits in his long life. His greatest gift was the intense freely given love, honor, respect and care that he gave to his wife of 56 years, Donna Rae, their children, Roxey Jo and Ryan Gerald and their spouses, his six grandchildren, Heather, Michael, Troy, Byron, Candi, Chad and eight great-grandchildren as well as his parents, Helen and Floyd his siblings, Joyce, Dolores and Richard and their spouses, his wifes parents and her siblings and spouses. He thoroughly enjoyed teasing the nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves behind a multitude of friends from several walks of life to whom he remained forever loyal. Gerald served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was then employed through retirement as a civilian in Maintenance Directorate at Hill Air Force Base. When not with family, he spent his leisure time golfing, reading and watching nature/animal shows, old movies, the news and Wall Street Stuff. He was always a content, rational, hardworking man with a delightful sense of humor. We love him so much and are so very thankful for his presence in our lives.
