Gertrude G. Moore's Obituary

Gertrude Guinevere Geiger Bingham Moore (Trudy) passed away peacefully, with her daughter by her side on April 20, 2018. She was born on May 6, 1920 to Elizabeth Jean Moyes Geiger and Julian Emmett Geiger in Ogden, Utah. As a young child, she lived on 30th and Porter Avenue in Ogden and held many fond memories of her mother, father, sister Marion, and baby brother Julian while living there. She attended Ogden City Schools and Weber College. Gertrude married Floyd E. Bingham, November 23, 1937, and had two sons, Floyd Emmett Bingham (Rene) and Blaine Walter Bingham (Kris). Floyd died October 10, 1948. Trudy married Gene M. Moore on December 20, 1950, and had one daughter, Jean Marie Moore Everts (Jeff). Gene died July 15, 1970. Her son, Blaine, died March 25, 1967. A long time resident of Washington Terrace, she loved her home and worked hard to raise her family there. Trudy was employed by and retired from Hill Air Force Base. Trudy loved the outdoors and was right at home in the sunshine. She loved to golf and had a routine to stop at the golf course with Gene on the way home from work for a quick nine. An excellent dancer and singer, she enjoyed music of all styles. Her favorite of all adventures was learning to trap shoot. Trudy was an outstanding shooter and became a ladies state champion. She was a charter member of the Golden Spike Trap Club. She would travel from state to state in her beloved motor home and would follow the trap shoots with her many fellow shooters. Trudy was preceded in death by her husbands, Floyd E. Bingham, and Gene M. Moore; her son, Blaine W. Bingham; a longtime companion, Herbert Hickman; and her parents, Julian E. and Elizabeth Geiger. She is survived by her sister, Marion Child; brother, Julian (Dorothy) Geiger; son, F. Emmett (Rene) Bingham; and daughter, Jean Marie (Jeff) Everts. Trudys legacy lives on in her children and four grandchildren: Brady (Lisa) Bingham, Tiffany (Greg) Miller, April (Wes) Johnson, and Darcie (Steve) Liptrot; her seven great-grandchildren, Taylee Bingham, Madison Miller, Morgan Miller, Jada Johnson Wheeler, (Ryan), Jena Johnson, Kru Liptrot, Kloe Liptrot; and one great-great-granddaughter, Rylie Ann Wheeler. Each one loved Grandma Trudy and the many stories of her many adventures. A special thank you for the loving care she received at Lotus Park Assisted Living / A Step Forward Hospice and a very special thank you to her granddaughter, Darcie Liptrot, whose daily care allowed her to remain in her own home for several additional years; also to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the many friends and family who came to visit and gave their loving support. As per Trudys request, a graveside service will be held, Thursday, April 26, 2018, at 11:00 am, at Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd, Ogden, Utah, under the direction of Leavitts Mortuary.
