Obituary

Glade E. Holfeltz passed away at his home in Idaho Falls, Idaho on Wednesday July 3, 2024. He was born in Maeser, Utah, the only son of Elmer James Holfeltz and Helen Mary Britt. He grew up in Maeser and graduated from Vernal High School Class of 1955.

He had five sisters, Leita (deceased), Carla, Ruth, Patricia (deceased), and Susan (Bob).

He married Jean Merkley 10 June 1959, (later divorced) they were the parents of three beautiful children. Terri (Aldo), Becky (Tim) and Curt (deceased). He then married Miriam Orth 18 July 1970 and was blessed with five more children, Debbie (Charlie), Lisa (Kenny), Kelley (Gregg), Robert (Michelle), David (Chris).

Glade was an industrious man and worked diligently to support his large family. He believed in working hard and after he retired, he continued to cut wood and sell it. In his later years he loved to take rides and enjoy the beauty of nature. He loved to fish and believed that if a young man fished, he would never get in trouble. He was a man of integrity which he attributed this to his upbringing. Glade believed in keeping fit and ran several marathons and he rode a stationary bike each morning until he became too weak. Glade was an avid BYU football fan.

After Mimi passed away, he married Kittie Dixon October 22, 2005, and added six more children to his family. Cathy (Red), Troy (Nichol), Suzette, Allison, Angela, Jennifer (Rod).

Glade was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held many callings including Executive Secretary, a member of the Elders Quorum and a teacher in various organizations. He served as a FamilySearch Support missionary with his wife Kittie for over 6 years while living in Oregon and was currently serving a Service Mission assigned to the Idaho Falls FamilySearch Center.

His combined family includes 50 grandchildren and over 100 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at Leavitt's Mortuary Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36TH Street, Ogden Utah July 12 at 11 A.M. Family Visitation at 10:30 A.M.
