Glen Roland Child

Glen Roland Child, 89, passed away February 3, 2022 in Ogden, Utah.  He was born November 24, 1932 to Glen Clinton Child and Bonnie Opal Sturdivant in Sunset, Utah.  Glen attended Ogden High School.  He married his childhood sweetheart, Beverly Jean Colvin on May 29, 1951 in Ogden, Utah.

Glen was an avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman.  He always knew all of the best fishing spots at Pineview Reservoir and along the Weber River.  He loved spending time with his wife Beverly, brother Oren, and sister-in-law Lou searching for arrow heads in the desert.

He had a passion and a real talent for painting landscapes and animals. The images he created truly reflected his love for the outdoors and are now family heirlooms that well be treasured and continue to bring smiles and happy memories for many years to come.  He had an amazing green thumb and was always so proud to showoff his garden and all his hard work.  He shared its produce with family and friends and used to make salsa with his wife to enjoy throughout the winter.    He was known by all of his loved ones for his delicious peanut brittle and cinnamon rolls.  He also loved to spend time with his wife watching and cheering on their favorite basketball team, the Utah Jazz.  They almost never missed a game.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Glen Roland Child is survived by wife of 70 years, Beverly Jean Child; children Sherrie L. Russell (Jim), Roland B. Child, Tammy J. Bernert, Brent A. Child (Paula), and Brother Oren Child (Lou); 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 18 great great-grandchildren.

Glen is preceded in death by his father Glen C. Child, mother Bonnie O. Sturdivant, and brothers Roy, Lindrew, Cecil and sisters Elva, Ruth and Myrna.
