Glenn Donley passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012. He was born June 22, 1920 in Youngwood, PA, a son of Charles I. Donley and Gala Rich Donley. He graduated from Cumberland Township High School and the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics as a Master Mechanic. He began working for Capital Airlines while attending the Institute. He volunteered for WWII and served in the Pacific Theatre. For part of his 40 year civil service career he wrote the overhaul specifications for the F-4 Phantom Fighter jet. He worked at Olmstead Air Force Base in Middletown, PA until 1965 when he transferred to Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Harold. He married Margaret McCully on March 22, 1953 and had three sons, Patrick, Daniel (Dianne), Braden (Fiona), two grandsons, and one great-grandson. He is also survived by a sister, Thelma Callaghan. He will be greatly missed. He was a Lutheran. Instead of formal services, a life celebration will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2012 from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the family home. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite cancer charity. Cremation under the direction of Leavitts Mortuary.
