Glenn Arwell McKay, 88 passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012 of natural causes, surrounded by his loving family. He was born, October 14, 1923 to Arwell L. and Paula B. Sorensen McKay in Huntsville, Utah on the family farm. He graduated from Weber High School, Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science Education, BYU with a Masters in Special Education. He married Lois Eleanor Warner in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on April 14, 1948. After marriage they were blessed with 2 sons (Don and Bob) who he taught and loved dearly. He served in the Navy during World War II and taught in the Weber School District for 20 years where his students loved him. He received a 5 year Service Award for teaching at Clearfield Job Corps Center. He served as a ward clerk for 3 bishops, two stake missions and as an ordinance worker in the Logan and Ogden LDS Temples. He was active in the Boy Scouts and received the Silver Beaver Award and a 75 year service Award. He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was adored and loved by them. He loved sharing his strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ with his family. He was proud of his family name and heritage and his association with President David O. McKay. Glenn is survived by his wife Lois, son Don (Sherry) McKay of So. Ogden, daughter in law Caren McKay of Roy, a brother Ramon (Donna) of Springville and 10 grandchildren, 8 of whom are married and 1 serving an LDS mission in Canada also 19 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way.Glenn was preceded in death by his son Robert W. McKay (Bob), his parents, a brother Bryant and sister Gearling. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Highland LDS Ward Chapel, 1314 27th Street, Ogden, Utah. Family will greet friends Wednesday June 13, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden and 30 minutes before the services at the church.
