Obituary

Gordon Ralph Coleman, age 84, passed away peacefully in his home on June 7, 2024, surrounded with the care and support of all his loved ones. Gordon was born January 25, 1940 in Ogden, UT, son to Ralph Coleman and Julia Kendell. Apart from the time spent in Alaska and Arizona while enrolled in the US Army, Gordon remained a life long resident of Ogden, commenting frequently over the years that this was the perfect place to live life. He had many fond memories of his early life while spending time around family and working at his grandparent's store, Kendell Service at Uintah Junction. Gordon's professional career started at Mountain Bell Phone Company, where he retired after 32 years.

Gordon enjoyed the country life setting, having raised a variety of farm animals over the years. A highlight in his life was training and showing Hackney horses, having participated for many years in competitions at the Salt Lake County Fair. He also enjoyed the game of golf and liked to hit golf balls at flags he staked out in the pasture at his farm in Taylor. Gordon was known by others for his great sense of humor, and he so enjoyed being surrounded by friends and family and sharing fun conversation.

Gordon is survived by his sister Ansta Smalley, brother Mike Simms, son Darren Coleman (Jennifer), daughters Morgan Price (Josh) and Kimberley Stegen (Shane), 7 grandchildren (Mckell Summers, Kaden Coleman, Conner Coleman, Kortney Coleman, Lilly Price, Asher Price, Gracie Price), and 1 great grandson (Chandler Summers). He is also survived by his close friend and partner Justine Wilson. Gordon will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A special thanks to granddaughter McKell for the many visits to her Grandpa over the past months. Also, a special thanks to granddaughter Kortney & Tina for all the extra care & love they provided during his final days.
