Grant Elmer Dickamore's Obituary

Grant Elmer Dickamore, 83, passed away December 12, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was born April 1, 1932 to William Dickamore and Edna Hancock in Ogden, UT. Grant graduated from Ogden High School. He was sealed to his sweetheart, Janean Arave, in the Logan LDS Temple on February 16, 1954. Grant was raised in Ogden, Utah. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was awarded a Purple Heart for his service. Following his time in the military, he moved to South Weber, Utah where he and his bride raised their family. He worked for the U.S. government for 38 years and retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1987. Grant was an avid sports enthusiast throughout his life. He especially loved golf and working in his garden. Grant was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was known throughout the community for his selfless service and his love for all those with whom he came in contact. He could often be found giving away vegetables from his garden. When those receiving would try to thank him, he would say Dont thank me. Thank the Good Lord. Grants pride and joy was his family and his "best buds" were his granddaughters. Grant is survived by his wife Janean, his son Lynn Dickamore, his daughter Gaye (James) Stoddard, his precious granddaughters Jamie (James) Larsen and Jenifer (Dallas) Wilberg, and his brother Henry Dickamore. Grant was preceded in death by his parents and ten siblings. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th St., Ogden, UT. Funeral Services will be held at the South Weber 1st Ward, 1401 East South Weber Drive, South Weber, UT on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 11:00 am with a viewing from 9:45 to 10:45 am prior the service.
