Grant Neville
Spendlove
November 21, 1931 – January 4, 2024
Our beloved husband, Father, Grandfather, and friend passed away January 4, 2024. Grant was born November 21, 1931, to Sophia Lythgoe and Lorin Spendlove, in Ogden Utah. He graduated from Ogden High School in 1950, then joined the United States Air Force and served 4 years during the Korean War. Grant worked for the Standard Examiner and finished his career at the IRS.
He married Yolanda (Londy) Victoria Manfredi on November 13, 1955, in Evanston, Wyoming. Later they were married in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Ogden, Utah. After 56 years of marriage, Londy passed away on March 30, 2011. He was father to seven children, Deborah Gamble (deceased) Judy Martin, Jay Spendlove (Terry), Michael Spendlove (Laura), Diane Pennington, Michele Johansen (deceased) and Shawn Spendlove. He had 15 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. He is survived by his daughters Judy and Diane and by his sons Jay, Michael, and Shawn. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, brothers Roger Spendlove and Buddy Spendlove, sisters Margaret Hancock and Moline McEwen, daughters Deborah, Michele, and granddaughter Alisha Stromberg.
He enjoyed watching his children play sports and gymnastics. He enjoyed bowling and dancing with Londy for years, winning over 20 trophies. He liked making us laugh and playing games with us.
Grant will be missed by all who knew him. His smile and his laugh will be greatly missed.
Special thanks to Legacy House and all their compassionate care and kindness. A really special thanks to his daughter Judy for taking care of him for 14 years as she did a wonderful job.
The Viewing will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2024, 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm, Rosary from 7:30 to 8:00 pm at Leavitt's Mortuary 836 36th St, Ogden, Utah. Funeral Mass will be Thursday January 11, 2024, 11:00 am at the Holy Family Church. The burial will be after at the Ogden City Cemetery 1875 Monroe Blvd, Ogden, Utah.
