Gene Gorder, 86, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife and family on May 27, 2013. he was born on February 27, 1927 to Walter Harold and Helen Hendricks Gorder. He married his sweetheart, Lesley Marie (Hill) Gorder on August 21, 1947 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were sealed on April 27, 1995 in the Ogden, Utah Temple. Gene served in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in the Aleutian Islands (Alaska) during World War II. He worked in the grocery business most of his life. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had a sense of humor right up until the time he passed. Gene is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lesley, his children, Lynn (Dana) Gorder of Hooper, Jeannie (Greg) Paris of Pennsylvania, Susan (Allen) Hatch of Idaho, Jeffrey (Tracy) Gorder of West Point, 17 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents and son, Larry Scott Gorder. The family would like to thank Access Home Care and Hospice and a special thanks to Shadd for taking such great care of our Dad and Grandpa. Funeral services will be held Thursday May 30th, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at Leavitts Mortuary 836 36th Street, Ogden. Friends may visit with the family and one hour prior to services. Interment will be held at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park.
