Harvey Robert Schwitzer passed away May 3, 2016 at his daughters home in Layton, Utah. He was born April 28, 1926 in Denison, Iowa to Robert F. Schwitzer and Hedwig Rosa Amelia Jaacks. Harvey married Gloria Jane Spiers October 30, 1946. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on August 9, 1948. Gloria died of cancer on August 15, 1977. Harvey later married Marilyn Regina Miller. Harvey worked as a trust officer for Commercial Security Bank and later moved to California where he worked for Security Pacific Bank. He was a World War II Veteran and served in the Navy as a signalman. His love for his country flowed over into his enthusiasm for politics. He never failed to vote. He loved to read and was always willing to share his insight on the latest book he was reading. Harvey was a devoted member of the LDS Church. He served as a Bishop, High Councilor, High Priest Group Leader and Temple Worker. He was an avid golfer and golfed with his son and grandson the day before his death. Of all his accomplishments, his greatest was that of Father and Grandfather. We will all miss you so much. Harvey is survived by his wife, Marilyn Regina Miller; three children, Gregory Schwitzer (JoAnn), Janice Schwitzer Austad (David) and Jean Schwitzer Toller (Robert); sisters, Ruby Tam, Gladys Girten, Dorothy Murray, Roberta Urias; brother, Robert Schwitzer; 15 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. A Viewing will be on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Leavitts Mortuary 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Leavitts Mortuary. Friends may visit with the family prior to services from 10:00 to 10:45 AM.
