IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Helen
Kenny
November 28, 1927 – January 17, 2025
Helen Kenny passed away on January 17, 2025, from natural causes. Helen was born on November 18, 1927, in Idaho Falls, Id. The family was living on a ranch in the Conant Valley, Idaho. She and her sister, Marion, were raised on the ranch with no running water, electricity, or furnace until she was 4 years old. The family then moved to Ogden. Her elementary school years had a series of moves between Pocatello, Denver, and Ogden. In the 6th grade, they settled in Ogden for good. She went to Polk school, Central Jr. High, and graduated from Ogden High School. She attended Weber College for two years. In 1950 she married Joseph P. Kenny. Helen and Joe went on to raise three children, Connie, Jim, and Joe. She was a great supporter of her children. She taxied them to little league games, Patio Springs swimming pool, and to school daily. When the kids reached high school, she drove them all over the state for games and other activities. She was a founding member of the St. Joseph Booster Club.
Her grandchildren treated her home as a day camp of sorts. They would walk from elementary school to play, eat, and enjoy her company.
Her early upbringing at the ranch was never far from her heart. She took the family often to visit, take pictures by the ranch house, and spend time in Jackson Hole. It is a family favorite for vacations. Helen supported and worked beside her husband at their successful business, Model Finance for over 30 years.
She was lucky enough to have a life-long relationship with her sister, Marion, who was just a year older than her. They were best friends and enjoyed each other's company, always. In their later years, you rarely saw one without the other.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joe, son-in-law Keith Cox, and half-brother Bob Arentz.
She is survived by her children, Connie, Jim, and Joe. Grandchildren Joel (Amy)Kenny, Aaron (Tanya) Cox, Andrew (Brianna) Cox, Jared Kenny, and Tiffany Cox Guy.
Great grandchildren Mason Best, Hadlee Best, Charlie Kenny, and Ozzy Kenny ..
She is also survived by her sister Marion Goddard,
Half-sisters Lynda Raddon, Susan Curtis, half-brother Bud (Penny) Toliver, and several nieces and nephews that called her Dede.
An informal celebration of Helen's life will be held at Leavitt's Mortuary at 836 36th Street, Ogden, UT on January 27, 2025, from 2-4 in the afternoon.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Primary Children's Hospital, Eccles Art Center, or St. Joseph Booster Club.
