Helen Boodrookas YdoHelen Boodrookas Ydo, 92, died on February 22, 2011.Helen was born to Peter and Efrosene Boodrookas on February 14, 1919 in Ogden where she lived all of her life. She married Alvaro Ydo in 1947. He preceded her in death on March 24, 1988. Helen was a long standing member of the Greek Orthodox Church of The Transfiguration in Ogden.She is survived by her daughters, Diana (Haven) Simmons; Linda Schiffman; Tina (David) Spencer; seven grandchildren, Licia (Brian) Britt, Lesley (Christian) Dick, Brett Simmons, Neale Schiffman, Nicholas Schiffman, Paul Spencer, Natalie (Jeremy) Kirst, three great grandchildren, and her brother Gus Boodrookas. Helen was preceded in death by, her husband and sister Magdalene B. Glad. The family would like to thank the Alpine Hospice, especially Robert Chandler, Fred Large and the CNAs. Also, Thank you to the Home Care givers. Family and friends may visit Friday February, 25, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, and one hour prior to the Liturgy service held on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the Greek Orthodox Church of The Transfiguration, 674 42nd Street, Ogden, at 1:30 p.m., with Father Mario Giannopoulos officiating. Interment will be held at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park immediately following the Liturgy service.In lieu of flowers send contributions to Alpine Hospice in Ogden, or the Greek Orthodox Church of The Transfiguration, in Helens memory.
