Obituary

Herbert F. ShadeHerbert F. Shade, 81, passed away at home on May 7, 2011. He was born May 17, 1928 to Fredrick William Emma Geisner Shade in Nisland, South Dakota. Herbert enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp right after high school. He married Norma Hager and to this union, 2 children were born, Steven Gaylynn. They later divorced. On March 23, 1958 he married Bessie Hines. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple on March 23, 1996. Herbert worked as an Aircraft Mechanic at HAFB and also as a parts manager for Coy Auto. He enjoyed getting his hands dirty with small engine repair and fixing just about anything. Most of all he was a loving, giving man who always looked out for those less fortunate. Herbert is survived by his children, Steven, Gaylynn Nash, Rupert, ID., Keith Shade, Laughlin, NV., Bud Hines, NY., Judy(Swain) Wood, Sunset, UT., and Julie (Lonnie) Chatlain, West Haven, UT., adopted son Michael Phoenix, 20 grandchildren, 35 great grand children and two sisters, Mildred Ammon, Heyburn, ID., and Shirley(Ray) Warren, Burly, ID.He was preceded in death by his wife Bessie, 2 brothers, Billy and Elmer and 1 sister Betty Isakk. A special thanks to Bob Alice Kendrick for the love and friendship given to Herbert over the years.Graveside services will be held on Wednesday May 18, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch where Military Honors will be accorded.
