Hewitt Franklin Lord (Hugh) passed away Sunday evening, February 8, 2015 surrounded by family and friends. He was born July 15, 1923 in Conover, North Carolina. He joined the U. S. Navy in 1942. Hugh proudly served his country for 4 years. He received his bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from U.S.C. He retired after almost 30 years with Aerojet General. He loved to snowmobile, hunt, fish and hike. He loved his family and was the "Worlds Best Grandpa" as well as father, husband and friend. He is survived by his loving wife, Nan, his daughters, Julie Reiswig, Pam McKenna (Kevin) and Laura Taylor (Darrin); 11 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren He was preceded in death by his father Ray Miller Hunsucker; his mother Myrtle Hunsucker; step-father David Lord; brothers Ray and Paul; and son Russell Spaulding. A Celebration of Hughs Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to "The Wounded Warrior Project". Service Information
