Larry Griffin, 76 years old, passed away on May 9th, 2024. Larry was born in Wheatland, Wyoming on August 9th, 1947, to Tessie Miller and George Clifton Griffin. Larry grew up in Wheatland and after high school attended the University of Wyoming where he graduated in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science in Range Management. Upon graduation Larry went to work for Del Monte but was called up for the draft. Larry served in the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division from May 1970- October 1971 completing 1 tour in Vietnam where he received the Vietnam Service Medal and was awarded the Bronze Star for combat actions in the A-Shau Valley.
Larry loved yard work and it showed because every home he lived in had a beautiful yard and a manicured lawn. Larry was hardworking and always gave 100 percent, which took him far in life. His favorite mantra was "they don't make it too tough." He enjoyed traveling - his travels taking him from the Philippines to Kenya, Idaho to Mexico, Greece to Glassboro, and many many places in between. He was a great fly fisherman and enjoyed hunting big game and upland birds with his wife, son and grandsons. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
Larry is survived by by his wife of 39 years Loralei Griffin, son and daughter-in-law Joshua & Verna Adams of Raton, NM. Daughter Jennifer Adams of Phoenix, AZ. Larry had four grandsons: Connor, Ian, and Danner Adams of Raton NM and Rylan Price of Phoenix, AZ. His niece Tania Dodge of Denver, CO and sister Carol and Denis of Orchard, NE.
He is preceded in death by his parents Tessie and George Griffin, and sister Alice Dodge.
Funeral Services will be held May 23rd, 2024 at 11:00am at Leavitt's Mortuary 836 36th St, Ogden, UT 84403.
Interment to follow immediately as well as small reception.
