Obituary

Ingar N. AndersenIngar N. Andersen returned home to his beloved wife, family and Savior on May 13, 2011. He and his twin sister were born on October 31, 1915 in Preston, Idaho to Bernhard and Nielsine Andersen. The family moved to Ogden, Utah at age 2. He attended Ogden City Schools, graduated from Ogden High School in 1935 and attended Weber College. He earned money picking fruit for local farmers, as a messenger for Western Union Telegraph Co., as a chauffer and working for Cream O Weber Dairy.He served a mission in Denmark where he had the opportunity to meet work with his family. When World War II broke out in Europe he finished his mission in the Southern Central States. During his military career he served in the Bismark Archipelago, Guadal Canal and Southern Philippines campaigns He served in the Army during World War II from 1940-1945. He married his eternal companion, Louise on October 10, 1941 in the Salt Lake Temple.He worked and retired from Hill Air Force Base after 35 years of service. He loved listening and playing music especially the harmonica. He loved gardening and enjoyed his beautiful flowers. He enjoyed working with his hands especially woodwork and building his own home. He also enjoyed camping, fishing spending time with his family.He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served in various calling including a ward clerk and a mission with Louise in the Chicago Temple as a temple worker and sealer. He also served in the Ogden Temple a sealer.Ingar is survived by his children, Carolyn (Mick) Kuroiwa, Boyd Andersen, his twin sister Ingrid Sorenson, 7 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and son Norman. A special thanks to Dr. Bruce the hospital staff.Family will meet with friends Monday May 16, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing 1 hour prior to services also at Leavitts Mortuary. Interment Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park.
