Isaac Vicente Salazar's Obituary

Isaac Vicente Salazar beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, at age 88, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 5, 1927 to Jose Vicente and Amanda Cordova Salazar in San Juan, CO. Ike served in the Army and later moved to Utah where he worked at Hill Air Force Base. He was past president of the Ace of Clubs square dancing club for two years where he met his soul mate Janet Beus Wilcox. In 1974 there were married and he helped raise her three children. He retired from Hill Air Force Base after 35 years of service to manage the Sweetwater Golf Course for First Security Bank. He also worked for the Bear Lake Water Co. and was very much involved in making Sweetwater Camper Trailer Park into what it is today. Ike overlooked the swimming pool, lawn care, managed the park and helped anyone who needed things done. He was known as Mr. Handyman. His passion in life was his family and golf. Ike and Jan enjoyed traveling and spent winter months in Mesa, AZ and St. George, UT. Ike is survived by his wife Janet; his children: Tina Salazar (Ken Harshman), Littleton, CO., Michelle Salazar (Joe Mooney), Glenview, IL., Kellie Wilcox, Columbus, OH., Mike Wilcox (Cama Mangel), Ogden, UT., Ron Wilcox, Logan, UT.; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brothers Roy Salazar (Judy), Jerry Salazar (Mary Ann); sisters Helen Vigil and Stella Naranjo (Barney). He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Edith Williams, Rose Lopez; brother Ernest Salazar; and grandson Joshua Wilcox. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th St., Ogden, UT. 84403 Friends may visit with family on Sunday, June 12, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. at Leavitts Mortuary and Monday 10:00 a.m. 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
