Isabella “Mickey” Clay's Obituary

Isabella M. Clay (Mickey) passed away October 10, 2016 at McKay Dee Hospital at the age of 94. She was born August 28, 1922 to William J. and Estelle Harris McKee in Hatley, Georgia. Mickey graduated from high school in Phoenix, Arizona where she majored in Business. She married Benton M. Clay in Phoenix, Arizona on October 3, 1942. He was a Lt. Col. in the Air Force and preceded her in death on August 31, 2002. Mickey was an active member and past President of the Cosmopolitan Club. She enjoyed social activities and playing Mah Jong. She worked at the Baggage Car Gift Shop at the Hilton Hotel for 17 years and loved meeting people. Mickey enjoyed playing Canasta and Phase 10 with her family, walking along the Weber River Trail, going to Bear Lake, and having dinner at her daughters homes. Her favorite restaurant was Village Inn where she always ordered the 2+2+2. She also loved completing crossword puzzles and reading the paper. Mom will be missed by all that knew and loved her. We take comfort in reuniting her with family, and of all the good memories she left for us who must live on without her. She is survived by her children: Arlene Clay, Portland, OR., Janet (Larry) Price, Coos Bay, OR., Charlotte (James) Torghele, Ogden, UT., Karen (Rick) Nelson, Seattle, WA., Sharon (Mark) Hall, Ogden, UT., Debbie (Ralph) Hess, Ogden, UT., 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and many step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, and her sister, Anne Wilson, Denver, CO. Mickey was preceded in death by one brother, three sisters, her son, Benton M. (Bud) Clay Jr., a grandson, Brandon Price, granddaughter, Beverly Slater (Brian) Mauck, and great-grandchildren, Tyson Nelson and Ty Torghele. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff on the Medical, IMC Units and IHC Hospice for the exceptional care they provided. A private graveside service will be held at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park, October 14, 2016. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Breast Cancer or a charity of your choice. WE WILL MISS YOU MOM!!!
