Ron Getz, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2024, at the age of 78. The only child born to Ervin and Eveline (Koonz) Getz, in Ogden Utah, Ron grew up with a zest for life and a love for the outdoors.

Ron married Jeannette (Baker) Getz on May 31, 1968, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter. He is survived by his two children, Kimberly (Foi) and John (Maria), as well as nine of his cherished grandchildren: Magnus, Korina, Samora, Meadow, Laiker, Garrett, Courtland, Grady, and Evie.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his devoted wife Jeannette, and his grandson Mason. His passion for life was evident in his love for skiing, camping, and the thrill of racing cars down Washington Boulevard. Ron was also known for his deep admiration and pride in his children, often sharing stories of their accomplishments with those around him. He will be remembered for his one-of-a-kind free spirit, which touched everyone he met.

A man of great faith, Ron had a profound love for God and a deep devotion to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He truly loved the members of his church community and found great joy in serving them freely and wholeheartedly.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Ron's life will be held Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with a Viewing held one hour prior to service at Leavitt's Mortuary 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah.

Ron's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
