Jack Russell Adams passed away Friday, January 24, 2014. Jack was born on July 21, 1927, a son of Leonard Vernon Adams and Pearl Lavern Wood. He graduated from Weber High School in 1945. He worked for Farrs Ice Cream, clerked in two stores and retired from the U.S Government at McClelland Air Force Base with 40 years of service. He had served in the US Coast Guard.
He married Laurel Spaulding in 1946, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple.
Jack served a mission at the Genealogical Center in Salt Lake City and worked in the name extraction for 25 years.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and fulfilled many positions in Utah and Georgia. He enjoyed fishing, sightseeing and traveling.
He is survived by his wife Laurel, sons Paul and Anita Adams, Thief River Minnesota; Alan and Linda Adams, DeBray Florida; Scot and Debbie Adams, Lakeside, California, and son-in-law Quinn Morris Guymon, Logan, UT. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one sister and daughter Ellen Adams Guymon and son Dale Von Adams.
A celebration of Jacks life will be held Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Leavitts Mortuary 836 36th Ogden-UT. Family and friends may call Wednesday at the Mortuary from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday 10:00-10:45 prior to the services.
Interment will follow at the Ogden City Cemetery.
