James (J.R.) Richard Ellis March 16, 1953 - July 29, 2014 We lost our beloved Husband, Father, Grandpa, Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Friend. But Heaven gained an Angel. Jim Ellis, 61, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Ohio State University Medical Center. Jim was born on March 16, 1953 in a twin birth to Josephine and Richard Ellis in Salem, Ohio. He was raises in California and has lived in several states, but has made Ogden his home for the last 23 years. No matter where he went he talked to everyone and made lots of friends. He will be greatly missed. Jim served 4 years in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked for Gentry Finance for 25 years and had been an over the road independent truck driver for the last 5 years. He loved being with his wife, daughters, grandchildren and his dog, Lacie. But his passion was his boat and water skiing. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kelly Ellis; his daughters Sherry Reeves, Kristie Ellis, and Mary Anne Mackley; his grandchildren, Alexander, Jonathan, and Allie Reeves, also Miles Mackley;, his mother Josephine Ellis; 2 brothers; Davis Ellis and his twin Jerry Ellis; 1 sister, Patty Ellis; numerous cousins and 1 great aunt, Doris. We will hold a memorial service on Friday, August 8, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at the Alpine Church in Roy, 4430 S. 3100 W., Roy, Utah. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at any America First Credit Union to the J.R. Ellis Memorial Fund. Cremation under the direction of Leavitts Mortuary.
