Sunset- James Wuthrich Johnson returned to his Heavenly Father and his beloved wife Erma Edith Empey Johnson on Wednesday, November 24, 2011 at the age of 91.Jim was born March 2, 1920 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Joseph Walter Johnson and Martha Emeline Wuthrich. He moved to Birch Creek, Utah (South Ogden) and was raised and educated there. He graduated from Weber High School in1938.He joined the Army January 9, 1942 and served in Santa Monica, California guarding Douglas Air Craft Manufacturing Facility until he was shipped to the European Theater. He was with the 530th Anti-Air Craft Company attached to the 71st Division, 3rd Army.He was discharged in October, 1945Jim and Erma were married July 11, 1942 in Los Angeles, California. They were married for 63 years.After being discharged from the Army, Jim gave up his professional rating to amateur status so that he could work for the Defense Depot Ogden, Utah. Jim retired in March, 1974.He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.Jim was an avid golfer, bowler, hunter, and fisherman. He was a devoted, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved his family very much and enjoyed seeing them succeed in life.Jim and Erma are the parents of James K. Johnson (deceased) Carol (LeRoy) Lund, Tremonton; Laurie Hillaker, Syracuse. They have eleven grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren 6 great great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his wife, son, parents, two brothers, and a great-grandchild.The family would like to thank Vista Care and especially Mindy, Melinda, Leslie, and Dr. Justin Mansfield.Funeral services will be held Tuesday November 29, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Leavitts Mortuary 836 36th Street, Ogden.
