Obituary

December 10, 1951-March 30, 2013James (Jim) Kenneth Linderman, Jr., 61, passed away March 30, 2013 suddenly while driving to meet his beloved wife Diane. Jim was born Dec. 10, 1951 in Astoria, Oregon to Shirley Thomas Marquis Jim Linderman, Sr. He was married to Diane LaVelle Boyer in Vancouver, WA on Jan. 7, 1972. They were sealed in the LDS Oakland Temple on March 13, 1976. Our beloved husband, father, and papa has impacted the lives of many across his path. He has been a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since September 1971. He joined the LDS church in Neu Ulm Germany. Most of his life he was in search of the truth God would have him know. He knew there was a greater purpose in life. One day he met a couple men, they taught him about the plan of salvation, a restoration of Gods church on the earth again, and about the living resurrected Savior, Jesus Christ. Within three lessons he knew the things he was taught was what he searched for his entire life. Once he understood the process of personal revelation he knew the church was true and that he was to marry the love of his life, Diane Lavelle Boyer.Throughout the years he suffered with physical and emotional trauma, but in the end he overcame it all, through the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. His unflinching courage, faith, and love has inspired and lifted the hearts of many all across the nation. He broke the chains of unbelief and provided a better life for his family, one of which he was never given in his childhood. As a father he taught his children about faith and how to love the Lord. He understood the most important things life has to offer, the understanding that this life is only a test. He is survived by his 6 children: Scott Linderman Gloria, Jim Linderman III, Joyce (Linderman) Bret Bowler, Melissa (Linderman) Clint Lawton, Jason Krista Linderman, and Alexander Elisa (Kofford) Linderman. He was known as papa to 16 grandchildren: Matthew, Jimmy, Logan, Spencer, Hannah, Abigale, Samantha, CJ, Benjamin, Tyler, Joshua, Noah, Emeree, Lucy, Alyce, and McKenzie. One of the things Papa is known for among his children and grand-children was the way he wore his sweat pants, he would pull them all the way up to his chest. This has become somewhat of a tradition in his family to get a laugh. He was and is loved by so many. We will miss our husband, father, papa, and friend, but we have faith and know that he will be there to greet us in passage to the next life. He had a strong testimony in the Savior; Christ was his friend and confidante throughout his life. We are grateful to have known such a strong man of God and his legacy will forever live on in and through his posterity.
