James Allen MeikleJames Allen Meikle, 65, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday January 13, 2012. Jim was born March 28, 1946 in Logan Utah, a son of James Allen Mildred Wakley Meikle.He graduated from Ogden High School and Weber State College. Jim married the love of his life, Jan Martin on June 21st 1964 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He proudly served an LDS mission to the Oakland, CA area. Jim served for many years at the Ward and Stake level and was truly loved by the members he served. Jim was an impeccable dresser truly had a great sense of style. He was the owner of The Blue Door Clothing Store and took great pride in helping others look their best. Jim served as Director of the McKay-Dee Hospital Foundation, Director of The Childrens Aid Society and he also served on the Board of Directors for Goldenwest Credit Union for many years. Jim loved serving his community with his recent position at Leavitts Mortuary. Jim had a special way of making friends with anyone and loved unconditionally and without judgment.Jim is survived by his sweetheart Jan, one son Andy (Kim) Meikle, Ogden; two daughters Aynie (Trent) Handsaker, Kamas, UT; Mary (Dell) Adams, Salt Lake City; 7 grandkids, Alec, Eddie, Wakely, Drew, Henry, Harper and Henley; one sister Pat (Wynn) Stirling, Provo, UT. He was preceded in death by his son Matt and his parents.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the Ogden East Stake Center, 1314 27th Street, Ogden, Utah at 11:00 am. Family will greet friends Wednesday evening from 5-8 p.m. and 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services both at the Stake Center. Interment will follow at the Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park. .Services under the direction of Leavitts Mortuary.
