Patriarch, Husband, Father, and Grandfather.
James served for a short time in the United States Navy, until he met and married his wife Lynda Jean Jude Powell.
He was a strong dependable provider for his wife and his daughters. He worked most of his life providing for his family at Smiths Food King running the Layton distribution warehouse as a warehouse superintendent. He later retired and worked for the Meals on Wheels program providing meals to the elderly. He retired in 2004 to enjoy the last years of his life.
James enjoyed being at home with his family and in his younger years, taking his yearly motorcycle ride with his wife Lynda.
He is survived by three daughters: Tamara Ray Powell, her three sons, James Ray Powell Jackson, his two daughters, Izabella Jackson and Adahlynn Jackson, Chase Edward Lee Jackson, his wife Brandi Lynn Jackson, their two children, Kohner Legrand Jackson and BraiLee Rae Jackson, Matthew Ross Jackson, his fiance, DaLena McCrary; daughter, Rachel Jean Powell, her daughter, Shyanne Marie Powell; daughter, Jamie Lynn Powell, her children, Wyatt, Bradley and Gavin James Mahaffey.
He was strong, he was fierce, hes our herohes our daddy!
At Jamess request there will be no services held.
