Janae Schuttloffel

Janae passed away suddenly from a possible aneurysm on July 3, 2023. Janae was born at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah on October 10, 1984, to Jeff Schuttloffel and Diana Call. Janae attended Hooper Elementary in Hooper, and then moved to Washington Terrace to attend Roosevelt Elementary and T.H. Bell in Washington Terrace. Later she moved to Syracuse and attended Northridge High. After High School she moved to Colorado to live in the Denver area for several years. In Colorado she went on to complete certification as a Drug and Alcohol counselor. Janae struggled with drug and alcohol issues in her life for many years.  On her journey for sobriety, she met many wonderful people. She was always grateful to those who helped her find sobriety. She found great joy in going to work for the people who helped her find sobriety and help others in their journey. Although Janae did slip at times, she was grateful to be sober during these recent months. On the day of her passing our discussion was of turning her life around and working towards buying house for her and her son,

While living in Colorado Janae met Jeremiah Jansen, they had Zachariah (Zach) on December 31, 2014. Janae Moved back to Utah in 2019 after the death of her grandma Roll to be closer to her mom, sister and have more of a support network for her son Zach.

Janae was full of life. She loved the outdoors, sports and family but most importantly her son Zach. Janae was always involved with Zach’s activities, playing and bike riding. They spent hours practicing catch or his soccer moves. One of his first questions was “Who will play catch with me now”.

Janae was preceded in death by her Grandparents Wilma and Paul Tomlin, Maurice Tomlin, Karen Forbes Cross, Marcia and Paul Roll, and Darryl Schuttloffel.

Janae is survived by her son Zach, stepson Micheal, their father Jeremiah, Mom Diana Call, Stepdad Jim Call, Dad Jeff Schuttloffel, Step Mom Lori, Sister Jennifer Reese-Mendez (Steve), Brother Jared Schuttloffel (Reyna), Step Sisters Tona Newhardt (Jerry), Tish Hickerson and Jimmie Wintle.
