Janice, age 86, passed away October 13, 2022. She was born August 30, 1936 in Ephraim, Utah to Paul V. Johnson and Ruth Larsen. She grew up with her brothers Gary, Steve, Kim and Craig. The family moved to Ogden, Utah where she graduated from Ogden High School. In 1955, Janice married Mark Briggs. The marriage ended in divorce but they had one daughter, Paula. On March 1 5, 1960 Janice married James Roland Burk in Ogden, Utah and she and Paula joined his family of four children; Roland, Jr., Robert, Linda and Larry, all now deceased. Janice had a successful career in the financial industry working for the Internal Revenue Service and volunteering at America First Credit Union. She loved to travel and would regularly spend time in Sun Valley, Idaho and Cedar City, Utah to attend the Shakespeare Festival. Janice also enjoyed attending concerts, museums, the ballet and the theater. Her favorite activities were ones spent with her grandchildren, especially lunches out and trips to Utah Jazz basketball games. Janice is survived by her daughter Paula Litz (Brent), grandchildren Darren Litz (Laura), Allison Litz (Sam Stephenson), Joanna Carmony Uustin) and Christopher Litz, her great-grandchildren Marshall and Olivia Carmony and Kenneth Litz. Also surviving are her brothers Steve Johnson (Barbara), Kim Johnson, Craig Johnson (Mary Kay) and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 11 :30 am with a viewing at 11 :00 am at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah. Internment at Ogden City Cemetery will follow the services.
