Obituary

Janie Lynn Stevenson (Martin) joined the love of her life of over 50 years, Thomas Andrew Stevenson, on June 3, 2026, peacefully. She was born July 3, 1951, in Arizona to Harry (Bing) Martin and Eleanor (Allington) Whitaker and was raised in Ogden, Utah. She grew up with three sisters, Nancy (Rich) Bishop, Katie (Ray) Sparks, and Mary (Roger) Belnap. When she married Tom in 1972, her family grew with her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Hollis (Wendy)/(Sue) Stevenson, Linda (Fred) Zubal, Delaine (Mike) Burton, Debbie (Don) Rodenbough, John (Karen) Stevenson, and Mike (Robyn) Stevenson. She loved being Aunt Janie to all her nieces and nephews. She was most proud of the family that she and Tom raised, their four children, Brenda Jodray, Steven (Ronda) Stevenson, Andrea (Michael) Kozerski, and Julie (Andy) Lunz. She was always thrilled to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved all the adopted children and grandchildren she was there for over the years. She had a huge heart and loved her family fiercely. She always made every holiday and birthday extra special. Her and Tom even spent Halloween volunteering at a community center haunted house. She loved taking trips with Tom, and they were even able to take their dream trip, a cruise to Alaska, together. She enjoyed her work in customer service and taught her children a strong work ethic. She attended Ogden City schools and Weber State University, majoring in child psychology. She had a dark, dry sense of humor and loved to laugh. She will be deeply missed.

Dragonflies stitch sunlight to the pond's soft face, brief wings, bright as the laugh you left behind. They skim the place you loved and carried your grace, small flashes of you, haunting and kind. Until we meet again, we love you, always and forever.

Janie and Tom's ashes will be together once more in a small ceremony outside of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, a place they both loved living in together. A place they will once again be together for eternity. Always, always and forever.
