Jean Shirley Lawrence, 81, passed away on October 21, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on November 16, 1930 to Ralf and Olive MacDougall in Schenectady, New York.Jean married John Sterling Lawrence on December 16, 1950 in Schenectady, New York. She graduated from nursing school in Glens Falls, New York in 1950. The family then moved to Ogden, Utah in 1958, where, in 1968 she graduated from Weber State University Together they had 2 children: Linda (deceased) and Daniel (Melanie) Lawrence, 2 grandchildren: Johnathan and Danielle and 1 great grandchild, Bierra and one on the way. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Miriam Chapter 14 under the Eastern Star, where she held several offices and was a Grand Officer. A viewing will be held on Friday, November 2, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden. Per Jeans wishes, no formal funeral services will be held.Cremation under the direction of Leavitts Mortuary. Inurnment will be held at Leavitts Crystal Gardens Niches.
