Jeffrey Jay Empey October 30, 1957 ~ July 30, 2018 Jeffrey Jay Empey, 60, passed away July 30, 2018, surrounded by his loving family after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born October 30, 1957, to Kenneth Jay and Janet Empey in Ogden, Utah. Jeff attended Ben Lomond High School. He married Peggy Nate on September 16, 1994, in Park City, Utah aboard a hot air balloon. Jeff was a loving husband, father, step-father and friend whom you could always depend on for a helping hand. He worked for Autoliv ASP Inc. for many years where he acquired many lasting friendships. He was an avid golfer and Greg Norman fan. He enjoyed fishing and bowling since he was a boy. He was an adventure-seeker who loved to spontaneously go on road trips, ATV rides, camping and other outdoor activities. Traveling to tropical destinations was another favorite shared between Jeff and his wife / best friend Peggy. Jeff is survived by his wife, Peggy; his sons, Jason, Justin, and Jeremy; step-son and friend, Jeff Nate; step-daughter, Stacey (Nate) Crayton; mother, Janet Empey; sister, Jamie Harmer; and 13 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Jay Empey. Funeral services will be held at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah, on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at 2:00 pm. A viewing will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018, from 6:00 8:00 pm and prior to services on Saturday from 12:45 1:45 pm. Interment at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park.
