It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Jennifer Rose Carlson-Yocom, 58, on July 06, 2023. Born on February 20, 1965, to Clifford Carlson and Fredericka Shultz, she later gained stepparents Bonita and Gerry. Jennifer lived in the Ogden area. She graduated from Bonneville High School class of '83.
Jennifer found her true purpose after becoming a mother to Andrew, Aricka, and Ashley, with now ex-husband Todd Yocom. Her nurturing nature and selflessness made her the epitome of a loving mother, always putting the needs of her family above her own. She loved watching her kids play sports and was their biggest supporter throughout their lives. Into their adulthood, she cherished every moment spent with them and her beautiful grandchildren.
Jennifer made lifelong friends while working for the IRS for over 34 years, retiring in 2021. She proudly committed to abstaining from alcohol in 2019 and found her passion for painting as a form of therapy. Her creations are vibrant and filled with a unique beauty that reflects her artistic vision. Her community would take tours in her eclectic garden, which she made into her sanctuary. Jennifer's warmth and inviting nature were felt by all her neighbors.
Jennifer's faith in Jesus was at the core of her being. She had a profound love for her Savior, and her relationship with Him was the foundation of her life. Jennifer found comfort and support at Washington Heights Church, sitting beside her dad and sister.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her father Clifford, brother Craig, stepmom Bonita and stepfather Gerry. She will be forever remembered and cherished by her son Andrew Yocom, daughter Aricka Emmertson (Ricky), daughter Ashley Helton (Erik), grandchildren Vincent, Andre, Audrianna, Ari, and Finley, mother Fredericka White, brother Ken Carlson (Natalie), brother Mark Carlson (Tina), sister Stephanie Hanlin, step-siblings Tom, Tim, Brendan, Tony and GerryLee, nephews Josh, Shawn and Kyle, nieces Trisha and Jessica, and many more beloved family members from all over.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 29 at 12:30. At Washington Heights Church 1770 E. 6200 S. Ogden, Ut. 84403. Friends and family are invited to attend. May Jennifer's soul rest in eternal peace, and may her beautiful memories bring solace to our hearts in the days ahead.
