Joanne P. Shurtleff May 27, 1945 - April 25, 2015 Joanne Mae Petersen Shurtleff, beloved sister, wife, aunt, and great aunt passed away on April 25, 2015. Joanne would have been 70 years old on her birthday, which would have been next month. She was born on May 27, 1945 in Bingham, Utah, sharing a birthday with her niece, Kelly, and nearly sharing her birthday with her Uncle Jack (her moms brother) who was born just two days later. Joanne graduated from Granite High School and also received some education from Stevens Henager College. She worked at Zions Bank for many years and worked for over 20 years at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah where she was a clerk in the admissions office. She retired from Weber State University. She married her husband, Larry Shurtleff in 1970 at her parents home in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were married for over 40 years. Joanne loved to square dance in the earlier years of her marriage. She also loved to bowl, do crafts and to camp. One of her favorite things to do in her life was to get out and go camping. She went on many camping trips with her husband, Larry. They went to many remote places with their Coleman trailer in tow as well as camping with mom and dad, her siblings and their children. Something many people do not know about Joanne is that she loved to sew, bake pies, can and crochet. Family will greet extended family and friends at a viewing which will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015 from 10:00 to 10:45 am at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah. A Graveside Service will begin at 11:00 am.
