Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jody Leonard Bingham. Jody was born September 17, 1953 and passed on December 5, 2015 after a short battle with cancer. Jody was born in Ogden, Utah to Fred Bingham and Cloereen Baker. He graduated from Roy High School in 1971. He joined the Air Force and served honorably from 1974 to 1981. He had fond memories of serving in Bitburg, Germany and working in avionics. He later went on to receive an associates in engineering from WSU and worked as an engineer and electronic technician in the government contracting sector throughout his career. Jody married Wendy Crutchfield in 1974 and together they had four children. He later married Cindy Nylander in 2002, who lovingly cared for him in his last days and was by his side during his most difficult struggle. Jodys passions were classic rock, hot rods, his 40 Chevy coupe, car shows, his Harley, and his guitars. He loved to play music with his son Shawn and work on cars with his son Dylan. He had a special place in his heart for his daughter Angie and was always there for her. He was an awesome father, great provider, and an even better grandfather. He was the first person family went to for help, advice, and support. We will miss his large and loving heart. Even in his pain and discomfort, he put others ahead of his needs. The family wishes to give sincere thanks to all the family and friends who visited Jody in his last days. His battle was short and quick but it meant the world to him to see so many loved ones by his side. Special thanks to Hospice of Utah for their help and tender ways. He is survived by his companion Cindy Bingham, children: Brandon (Melissa), Shawn (Katrina), Angie, and Dylan. Step children: Kelly R. Smith and Maggie Nylander. His father Fred (Tamari), sister Faye (Richard) Painter, brothers: Bob (Sharon), Allen (Ann), and Marvin (Tina). Grandchildren: Jennifer, Megan, Madison, Abbigale, Whitney, Jackson, Lillian, Savanah, and Hunter. Jody was preceded in death by his mother Cloereen, brother Michael, and great grand daughter Aliyah Wilde.
