In loving memory of Jody William Thackeray and Desiree Star Thackeray.
Jody William Thackeray and his beloved daughter Desiree Star Thackeray passed away together following a tragic accident on August 25, 2026. Their sudden departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of their family, friends, and all who knew them. Both Jody and Desiree were true, free spirits who brought a vibrant energy into the lives of everyone they met, and their independent, bright souls will be deeply missed.
Jody was born on December 21, 1957, he was a man defined by his extraordinary work ethic and his fierce devotion to his family. A deeply reliable and hardworking provider, he dedicated 16 years of service to Utility Trailer and 13 years to Fresenius. Above all his professional achievements, Jody’s greatest pride was his family. Together with Debra Ann Fenn Thackeray, he raised six children, always ensuring they were safe, loved, and deeply cared for.
Desiree Star Thackeray, born June 7, 1986, following beautifully in her family's footsteps, lived her life with a caregiver's heart. For many years, she selflessly looked after those around her, always making sure her siblings were taken care of. Her protective, nurturing spirit extended deeply to the next generation, as she also spent countless hours lovingly taking care of her nieces, Erika and Victoria.
Jody is survived by a large, loving family who will carry his memory forever, including his children; Joseph Andrew Vigil, Rebecca LeAnn Vigil, Sunshine Thackeray, and Cody Thackeray; his mother, Bonnie Thackeray; his sisters, Lori Godwin, Rebecca McIntyre (Larry), and Julie Purser; his brothers, Tracy Thackeray, Jamie Thackeray, and Bruce Thackeray.
Jody was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Ann Fenn Thackeray; daughter, Roxanne Lee Vigil; his father, William Thackeray; his loved ones, Debbie Farley Thackeray and Cindy Rust Thackeray; and his brother-in-law, Craig Purser.
Desire Star Thackeray is survived by her loving family who will carry her memory forever: her older siblings, Joseph Andrew Vigil and Rebecca LeAnn Vigil; younger siblings, Sunshine Thackeray and Cody Thackeray; her grandmother, Bonnie Thackeray and her soulmate, Rico Montanez. She is preceded in death by her oldest sister, Roxanne Lee Vigil, and her mother, Debra Ann Fenn Thackeray.
Family and friends are invited to gather to honor and celebrate the free-spirited lives of Jody and Desiree. Services will be held on Tuesday, September 15th at 2:00 PM at Leavitt's Mortuary & Aultorest Memorial Park, located at 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah 84403.
In lieu of flowers, the family would deeply appreciate any financial support during this incredibly difficult time. The two youngest siblings were entirely dependent on their dad and Desi for everything they needed. Donations to help cover the memorial services and to support the future needs of the children can be made directly to the family's official link
Together, Jody and Desiree’s legacies of hard work, protective love, and deep family devotion will never be forgotten!!!
