Johanna (Kranendonk) Ritchey-DeAnda

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Johanna (Kranendonk) Ritchey-DeAnda (83), passed away peacefully on October 05, 2023. Johanna was born on March 21, 1940, in Ogden, UT, to Josephine Vellinga and William Kranendonk. 

She became a contract seamstress at a young age, making draperies and selling them to others. She later worked at Dee's Family Restaurant for over 30 years. She loved meeting new people and listening to their stories. 

Johanna always sacrificed for those around her. She found joy in serving and dedicated her life to caring for others.  She also babysat and cared for her grandkids and great-grandkids and found much joy in helping to raise them.

Johanna is survived by her daughter, Cleo (Fred) Morgan; her son, Johnny DeAnda; her sister, Josephine Patterson; her brother, Raymond Kranendonk; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Alvin Harold Ritchey; her husband, Juan DeAnda; her parents; her sisters, Clazena and Agnes; her brothers, Johnny, Harry, William, Arthur, Wilford, Clarence, and Donald, as well as her first husband, Harold Ritchey.

Johanna was the rock and the light in our family. She will be deeply missed--until we meet again in Heaven. We love you!

Graveside services will be held Friday, November 17th, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Leavitt’s Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th St., Ogden, UT.

A Celebration of Life will follow immediately afterward at the church on 3362 Jackson Ave, Ogden, UT. From 12:00 to 3:00 in the gymnasium.
