Our beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather John Willard Bingham passed away on April 15, 2018. We will miss him but rejoice in his reunion with his dear parents, family members, and his Savior, Jesus Christ.
He was born on December 15, 1951, in Ogden, Utah to Robert and Luella Bingham. His childhood was spent in Ogden, Utah. He graduated from Ogden High School and attended Weber State University. He joined the United States Air Force and was stationed in Denver, Colorado and Kitzingen, Germany. He battled lymphoma during his young adult years and as a result, had one functioning lung. Despite his limitations, he enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved being in the Mount Ogden area. He also loved going on drives and star gazing in the mountains and deserts with his girls when they were young. He married Mary Beth Willis on August 19, 1983, in Salt Lake City, Utah. They are the parents of three daughters; Emily, Elizabeth, and Rebecca.
He was a devoted father and provider for his family. He worked hard as a computer programmer, sales associate and customer service representative for various companies. We are so proud of how hard he worked, despite not always being happy to go to work. His latest position and favorite job was as a sales associate at RaElco.
He loved spending time on his ham radio and communicating with people from all walks of life. We will miss you dearly, AC7GV. He had a goal before he passed away to make contact with someone from all 50 states. He was always learning and trying to figure out how things worked. He had a natural curiosity to understand the world around him, as evidenced by his extensive junk collection.
He loved his grandchildren and loved his name, Grandpa John. He would spend time with his grandchildren every Thursday, always bringing a box of cookies or treat from the Dollar Store. We will miss Grandpa Thursdays.
He is survived by his wife Mary Beth Bingham; his three daughters Emily (Tyler) Anderson, Elizabeth Bingham and Rebecca (Patrick) Barrett; four grandchildren Samuel, Jacob, Elodie, and Laura; his sisters Kathy Bingham, Eileen (Kevin) Firth, and Julie (Doug) Belnap. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Luella Bingham and many aunts and uncles.
